Combustion inside Well lead to fishing :

While doing wax cleaning job, tool snapped suddenly and wire started coming with black texture. Observed wire size reduced at snap point drastically and wire felt very hot. 

Cause:  Established root cause for the incident after observing snapped wire and well time line. The previous day an air compressor job was performed to lift oil from the well through GLV. But prolonged air injection emptied liquid column inside tubing leaving air inside. As time progressed gas migrated to empty column and formed mixture of air and gas. While doing slicklkne job, tools might have generated necessary spark over course of job and ignited gas leading to melting of wire and snap. 

Lesson to be learnt : Air compressor application with out knowledge of liquid column present in well can form dangerous air fuel mixture which is ready to ignite. Operators and Job supervisors are to be made aware of the risk involved in compressor application and plan necessary risk mitigation measures before performing the well intervention jobs.
